About Us
The Islamic Center of Coweta County (ICCC) promotes fellowship and provides a welcoming place for the Muslim community in Coweta County to come together for worship, learning, and community activities. Our goal is to strengthen our community, encourage fellowship, and provide opportunities for people of all backgrounds to learn and connect.
Our Story
More than 25 years ago, a few brothers working in the Newnan area began gathering for Jumu’ah prayers. At the time, prayers were held in a small meeting room at a local hotel. The room was graciously made available to us when it was not booked for another event, but its availability was not always guaranteed.
As more brothers and sisters learned about the Jumu’ah service, our attendance continued to grow. Eventually, we outgrew the small meeting room and began looking for a more dependable place to perform Salah and serve our growing community.
About 10 years ago, we officially became known as the Islamic Center of Coweta County (ICCC) and moved to our current location in Newnan, Alhamdulillah.Our current location has primarily been used for Jumu’ah prayers. Over the years, we have also faced challenges with noise from neighboring facilities, which has limited our ability to use the space for additional community activities.
Today, our greatest challenge is space. As our community continues to grow, our current facility is reaching its capacity.
Our Future
Our vision is to establish a permanent Islamic Center that can serve the growing Muslim community of Coweta County for generations to come.We hope to purchase land between Newnan and Peachtree City, InshaAllah, and build a future Islamic center that will provide a place for Salah, education, youth activities, community programs, fellowship, and other services for our community.
